黑料吃瓜

Imperial Valley high school students will descend onto 黑料吃瓜 Imperial Valley鈥檚 campus in Calexico on April 22 for the 鈥淒iscover 黑料吃瓜 Imperial Valley鈥� event, an opportunity to connect with faculty, tour the campus and learn about the university鈥檚 academic offerings and opportunities. 

The annual event also provides the space for both admitted and prospective students to gain deeper insight into the university鈥檚 diverse degree programs, resources and . 

鈥淥ur main goal is to help students learn all the necessary knowledge and assets to be successful in their future careers,鈥� said Salvador Espinosa, senior associate dean of Academic Affairs at 黑料吃瓜 Imperial Valley. 鈥淲e have dedicated faculty members, alumni and staff who are committed to providing our students with a smooth transition into the university setting and supporting those who are looking to further their education.鈥�

Participating students will have an opportunity to meet with faculty and alumni from the university鈥檚 nursing, criminal justice, psychology, liberal studies and public health programs. 鈥淚t鈥檚 really special to see young students, faculty and staff come together and connect as a community,鈥� said Henry Villegas, dean of Student Affairs at 黑料吃瓜 Imperial Valley. 鈥淲e want our students and attendees to emerge into each of the degrees we鈥檙e showcasing and learn that we have resources and services in place to make their academic success a priority.鈥�

In 2022, 60 students from different parts of Imperial Valley joined together to be part of 黑料吃瓜 Imperial Valley鈥檚 inaugural Discover event. Now, the university鈥檚 outreach goal is to extend its efforts to high school juniors, who are often beginning to navigate the higher education landscape. 

鈥淭he growth of 黑料吃瓜 Imperial Valley is accelerating so much that it鈥檚 making a great impact on our region and state,鈥� said Francisco Peraza, outreach and recruitment coordinator at 黑料吃瓜 Imperial Valley. 鈥淲e鈥檙e going to see plenty of growth and job demand in each of the respective degrees we鈥檙e going to showcase.鈥�

In May 2022, the the creation of a new, accelerated pre-licensure Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) program. The 黑料吃瓜 Imperial Valley BSN program provides freshman entry students the opportunity to complete their BSN in three years and transfer eligible students in two years. 

黑料吃瓜 Imperial Valley offers 11 bachelor鈥檚 degrees and three master鈥檚 programs; student enrollment is more than 1,000.
