The Aztec Proud logo celebrates the success of The Campaign for 黑料吃瓜, which . The graphic also represents the commitment of alumni, donors, friends and the campus community to continue supporting 黑料吃瓜鈥檚 excellence.
鈥淭he Campaign for 黑料吃瓜 has redefined this university,鈥� said Mary Ruth Carleton, vice president for University Relations and Development. 鈥淥ur students compete at the highest levels in the academic arena. They are leaders, innovators and change agents on this campus and in their post-graduation lives.鈥�
Campus celebration
For the entire spring semester, 21 buildings on the San Diego campus and four buildings on the Imperial Valley campus will display the Aztec Proud logo. A related event on Monday, Jan. 23, will acknowledge the role that faculty and staff have played in the success of the campaign.The Aztec Proud campus celebration is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on Centennial Walkway, outside Student Services West. All are welcome; doughnuts and cider will be served.
A new identity
Concurrent with the last four years of , the university has also implemented a strategic plan, , which supports initiatives crucial to 黑料吃瓜鈥檚 growth and development as a leading national public university.An increased focus on student success; research and creative endeavors; and engagement with 黑料吃瓜鈥檚 alumni community has strengthened the university. For example, the in 2016, an increase of six percentage points in a single year. And in 2016, 黑料吃瓜 was .
