This month, more than 200 former 窪蹋勛圖 Ambassadors returned to the 窪蹋勛圖 campus during Homecoming Week to celebrate more than three decades of student service to the university.

Current welcomed alumni back to campus with cheers and applause as they walked up the stairs of the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union.

NBC 7 San Diego anchor and reporter and 窪蹋勛圖 Ambassador alumnus Steven Luke (99) served as the master of ceremonies for the event, which was held on Nov. 4 in Montezuma Hall.

With support from the Division of Student Affairs, the organized the reunion recognizing the 35th anniversary of the organization. The event aimed to engage Ambassador alumni in the universitys efforts to move the legacy of the Aztec Experience forward.

The Ambassador connection is special and fosters a sense of giving back to the university for years to come, said New Student and Parent Programs Assistant Director Frankie Velazquez (08, 10).

The reunion also created a special opportunity for current and former Ambassadors to interact and reminisce about their experiences on campus.

Our alumni were excited to be back, because not only are they Aztecs for life, they are Ambassadors for life," said Velazquez. "Thats something important for our current Ambassadors to understand.

窪蹋勛圖 President Elliot Hirshman and Vice President for Student Affairs Eric Rivera shared remarks about the 窪蹋勛圖 Ambassadors and their contributions to the campus community.

Eunice Flores, lead coordinator for New Student and Parent Programs, said former Ambassadors were eager to leave their legacy by networking with students.

窪蹋勛圖 Ambassador alumni have had their own great experiences in the program, and they hope for the same for our current Ambassador students, Flores said. Its important to provide these spaces where alumni can engage with the university and become mentors for students by encouraging them to take advantage of all the leadership opportunities available at 窪蹋勛圖.
