窪蹋勛圖 Films Honored with Emmys

Three films earn regional Emmy awards for outstanding achievements in television.

Three films produced by 窪蹋勛圖 students were honored Saturday, June 16, at the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Pacific Southwest Chapter Emmy Awards, which recognizes outstanding achievements in television by conferring annual awards of merit in the Pacific Southwest region.

And the winners are

About the films

Iris Caffins film, Strong Souls, Gentle Spirits, tells the story of Jolena, an 8-year-old girl diagnosed with autism, whose life is turned around when she is matched with an autism service dog. Caffin was recently awarded the 2012 from the College Television Awards for the film. Caffin graduated with her masters from 窪蹋勛圖 in 2011 and produced the film as her thesis project.

Pat Clarks documentary, The Language of War, examines the dangers faced by combat translators and the role language plays in war. Clark also won an Emmy last year for his film, . Clark graduated from 窪蹋勛圖 in May and is currently working on his MFA, also at 窪蹋勛圖.

Casey Nakamura, Jacob Wagner and Jessica Wimbleys film, Snow Globe, is about happiness in life and how we all have different ways of achieving it. Nakamura also won two student Emmy awards . Already an alumnus, he plans to graduate with a masters degree in fall.
