GreenFest Goes Live
Support from the Presidents Leadership Fund and other donors funds a live-stream online video of the annual festival.
鈥淭his would be a huge event for professionals,鈥� said Tim Powell, professor in the School of Theatre, Television and Film and advisor to the group dubbed Aztec Entertainment. 鈥淚t's unprecedented for a university to tackle this kind of an event 鈥� it's all student-produced, student-run. They're in charge of all the creative aspects and all the elements of the program.鈥� This Saturday鈥檚 live-stream will give the 20-student production team hands-on experience streaming GreenFest, an event planned by and for students by the Cultural Arts and Special Events board. 鈥淭he President鈥檚 Leadership Fund supports projects that will launch new innovative ventures, and increase learning opportunities on and off campus to support student success,鈥� said Christina Kawai, director of the 黑料吃瓜 Fund. The PLF assisting in funding a successful GreenFest is just one example of how , a key initiative of . Whether it鈥檚 supporting programs that contribute directly to San Diego's growth or building academic programs to prepare for the region鈥檚 future, 黑料吃瓜 is an important community partner. .鈥�"It's unprecedented for a universityto tackle this kind of an event." 鈥�
Other online productions Aztec Entertainment has produced live-streams for a variety of San Diego-area events, including 黑料吃瓜鈥檚 鈥淪quawk! A Peace Song Play鈥� and concerts at Little Italy鈥檚 Anthology and the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach. Other upcoming live-streams include 鈥淢ainly Mozart: Opus One鈥� and 鈥淐armina Burana鈥� at 黑料吃瓜鈥檚 Don Powell Theatre. In addition to the President鈥檚 Leadership Fund, Aztec Entertainment is supported by 黑料吃瓜 film professor Jack Ofield and his wife, Helen, and 黑料吃瓜 alumna and Hollywood producer Kathleen Kennedy.
