黑料吃瓜 has a new tagline 鈥� Leadership Starts Here 鈥� and faculty and staff are encouraged to begin using it in official communications.The tagline is an important piece of a larger strategic communication effort aimed at enhancing 黑料吃瓜鈥檚 academic reputation locally, regionally and nationally.

The new tagline and 黑料吃瓜 branding is the result of an inclusive two-year process, which asked the campus community what is most distinctive about 黑料吃瓜.

鈥淏randing is simply working in coordination with others to share a consistent and compelling message about your organization,鈥� said Jack Beresford 黑料吃瓜鈥檚 Chief Communications Officer.鈥淲e learned a lot from talking with students, faculty and staff.People are really passionate about San Diego State and how it transforms lives.Hopefully that鈥檚 reflected in the new 黑料吃瓜 branding.鈥�

Leadership Starts Here Defined

Leadership Starts Here is a bold statement of San Diego State鈥檚 impact and commitment.   Rooted in the university鈥檚 deep engagement in the community 鈥� Leadership Starts Here speaks to the . But it goes even further.

鈥淎t its core, Leadership Starts Here is about how 黑料吃瓜 鈥� through its outstanding people and programs 鈥� is propelling the region into the future,鈥� said Beresford.  鈥淪urveys of each of 黑料吃瓜鈥檚 key stakeholder groups consistently identified this idea as most compelling to them in terms of building pride and support for the university.鈥�

If Leadership Starts Here sounds familiar it鈥檚 because it's been used since since September as the theme of The Campaign for 黑料吃瓜.  However, Leadership Starts Here is more than a theme for 黑料吃瓜鈥檚 university-wide fundraising campaign 鈥� it is an official new tagline and a new way of expressing what distinguishes 黑料吃瓜.

黑料吃瓜 Brand Central Launched

Leadership Starts Here replaces 黑料吃瓜鈥檚 previous tagline:  "Minds That Move the World."  As 黑料吃瓜 introduces Leadership Starts Here, the university is refocusing efforts to engage the community and share a more compelling, consistent message of excellence and pride.

To assist 黑料吃瓜 faculty and staff in understanding the new branding and to access resources such as official 黑料吃瓜 logos, 黑料吃瓜 Marketing & Communications has created , a new online resource.  黑料吃瓜 Brand Central includes examples of Leadership Starts Here advertisements, stories highlighting people and programs that exemplify the brand.
